There were some truly exciting birds in the ABA area this January that would have impressively launched someones Big Year. I’ve been keeping taps on these birds and noting whether they’re chasable or not. I’ll publish a hypothetical list in the next couple of days.

Hi John
I miss looking at your blog to see what new birds you have seen. Have you ever posted a summary of how many miles you drove and flew, days away from home and cost? Do you have any plans on a book or DVD?
Who knows, You may have made Sandy sweat enough that He’s out there doing it, not telling anyone, like last time. To be the only one to break his own record twice could be his style. By the way, Chris Hitt has his summary of your big year now on his SlowBirding website. I agree with some of it but not all of it. Its way easier to look in retrospect than to project the present into the future. Hope your getting rested up. Dave
Good Job!
I happenned on your blog in the fall and have enjoyed reading. Please dont stop now that your big year is over!!! So what you didn’t get there. At least you tried. I couldn’t tell a titmouse from a mouse’s tit but have been following weekly. I think my life list is probaly at about 7 but I am fascinated with birding. Just a little teaser about something every once in a while would be nice.
