Today was going to be the day I finally found Black-capped Gnatcatcher in the ABA area. I guess no one told the 300 mountain bikers and officials and watchers who were lined up on Montosa Canyon. I’ve rescheduled for tomorrow morning, but did pick up four new year birds including Elegant Trogon
and Mexican Whip-poor-will. Anyway here are a few more photos.
All right,
you are in my old stomping grounds now–Elegant Trogon is one of America’s great birds! Antelope Jackrabbit may be my favorite mammal outside of the big game, cetaceans and carnivores. See you next week.
