Hmmmmm, guess you took the long way to St. Louis!
Wow…great bird!!
Two more comments on your trip to Nevada:
1) If you have not booked accomodations yet, I would recommend the Thunderbird Motel in Elko (775-738-7115). Nice rooms with microwave and small refrigerator at a good price.
2) When we left Lamoille Canyon heading directly back to Salt Lake, our GPS took us on the “back roads” (including gravel roads) back to I-80 east of Elko. We cut through the town of Lamoille. Shortly after going through Lamoille, we had a family (two adults, 3 youngsters) of Gray Partridge cross the road in front of us. A long shot to be sure, but ya never know!

Nice work. I tried for that bird twice with no luck. I will be returning to Tucson late Tuesday so I’ll have at least one more chance.
Beautiful photos John!
