It’s 4:50 AM and I’m wide awake in the Super 8 in Perry, OK. To say I’m excited is an understatement….but I’m also a tad nervous. In two hours I’ll be searching for Smith’s Longspurs. No big deal, right, there fairly common here in the winter, but I’ll have to hear them. That’s a problem…….my hearing keeps getting worse every year. No one to help hear the rattling call. It’s all on me this morning. Oh well, I’ll just have to work harder.
