Texas Bound

Just finished cooking dinner for Linda.  It’s her 60th! I made a ribeye and shiitake mushroom stir-fry.  If all goes well it’ll be the last dinner I cook this year. Too busy chasing birds!  The last four days have been quiet. Did go out on Saturday with Bill Kaemfer and Todd Deininger (I’ll be sharing trips with each of them later this year).  We were not able to add a single bird to the year list, not even Common Grackle. We did turn up a Colorado Chipmunk for the Quest for a Thousand.

All this will change tomorrow! I’m Texas bound!  My plane leaves at 6:00 AM arriving in San Antonio. By 2:00 Pm I hope to be watching a Yellow-faced Grassquit in Goose Island State Park. Megararity!!   Spring is in the air. I’ll post tomorrow night.

  1. Did your stir fry dinner turn out just like what you had here in Ventura? Good going on your Texas bird quest, but it’s still going to get progressively tougher as the months roll by…..DJ

feel free to leave out the “it’s her 60th”!! And oh by the way. . . I’m still cleaning up the kitchen from the stir-fry.

Linda, what, you want him to see 700 birds in one year and wash dishes?
