I’ve dropped Bill off at the Laredo Airport and am now 100 miles north of Laredo in Uvalde, which lies on the southern edge of the Texas Hill Country. ┬áThe trip north hasn’t been too productive and I’ve “dipped” as Peter Gent would say on four of the harder to get valley birds- White-collared Seedeater, Red -billed Pigeon and Hook-billed Kite, which means there is additional pressure on my April Texas trip.

Tomorrow I bird the Rafter W. Ranch with Bob Rasas for the skulking Rufous-capped Warbler.
